Rochester Police say that a 10-year-old boy crashed his SUV into a clothes store on Lyell Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
Around 3:07 p.m., police were called to the 1300 block of Lyell Avenue to talk about a car that had hit a building. Police say a 2019 Jeep Cherokee crashed into the front of the Rainbow clothing store and hit two parked cars that were not occupied: a 2022 GMC Acadia and a 2018 Subaru Forester.
Police say that the people in the car—a mother, her child, and someone else—had come to the store to shop. At some point, the child got into the driver’s seat of the running but stopped SUV, put it in drive, and hit two other cars before crashing into the storefront.
People were not hurt, and the building did not sustain any major damage.
The event is still being looked into. Anyone who knows something should call 911.
