A Michigan dad was arrested for allegedly participating in a home invasion and car theft, and prosecutors claim he forced his little daughter to join him.

Andre Stephon-Curtis Broadenax, 29, was arrested in connection with the home invasion of an unknown 75-year-old Detroit man and the theft of a car in Dearborn Heights, according to a press statement issued by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office on Monday.

According to the announcement, the suspected home invasion occurred on April 30 at approximately 8:43 p.m. Broadenax is accused of driving the stolen car and perhaps having a passenger inside, his 11-year-old daughter.

Prosecutors claim Broadenax “forced his 11-year-old daughter to assist him with the home invasion.” According to dispatch recordings from the night of the suspected home invasion, the 75-year-old’s son arrived at the residence and confronted Broadenax, who fled on foot, leaving the allegedly stolen car and his daughter behind.

Officers from the Detroit Police Department apprehended Broadenax shortly thereafter and arrested him. He was charged with first-degree house invasion, second-degree home invasion, larceny in a building, receiving and concealing a motor vehicle, assisting a minor in committing a felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Broadenax’s bond was increased to $150,000 at a hearing on Monday, with the condition that he wear a tether and remain under house arrest if he bonds out, according to the prosecutor’s office. He is set to appear for a probable cause conference on May 14 and a preliminary examination on May 21.
