125 mph chase leads to carnage on Nordhoff Street; suspect hospitalized

A horrific incident Friday morning in the San Fernando Valley resulted from a pursuit of a fast driver, seriously damaging at least five automobiles.

It took place in the North Hills area at approximately 7:40 a.m., just after the California Highway Patrol called off the pursuit for safety reasons.

Just a few minutes prior, CHP officers saw a white Honda Civic moving at around 125 mph on the 405 Freeway. The driver escaped as officers attempted to pull the car stop.

As soon as the vehicle veered off the interstate onto surface streets, the chase was canceled because of possible hazard.

On the 15400 block of Nordhoff Street, the same car struck a turning pickup truck, causing chaos, as captured on video that was shared.

When the fast-moving sedan suddenly appeared, the pickup tried to turn left into a parking lot, colliding with the passenger side of the vehicle and veering out of control. The pickup spun violently into oncoming traffic and into a moving vehicle, and the sedan struck many parked cars, scattering debris over the road.

Two separate crashes involving at least five automobiles.

Two individuals were taken to a nearby hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department after they arrived on the scene. The suspect driver was one among the people taken, according to CHP officers.

It was not revealed what the injured people’s conditions were. Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
