As part of a targeted assistance initiative, Louisiana seniors may receive up to $1,750 in stimulus cash this month.
This payment is intended to help elderly residents stay afloat as everyday expenses and growing healthcare costs put a strain on fixed incomes.
Seniors who fulfil certain income and benefit requirements are eligible to receive the payments.
Who is Eligible to Receive the $1,750?
Residents of Louisiana who receive Social Security, SSI, or other retirement-related benefits and are 62 years of age or older are the target recipients of the stimulus cheques.
Seniors must also earn less than $80,000 per year as individuals or $160,000 per year as joint filers in order to be eligible. Those who filed for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or incurred dependent care costs in 2024 are given preference.
When and How Will It Arrive?
Throughout May and the first part of June 2025, the payments will be made in installments.
While seniors without banking information can anticipate receiving a physical check in the mail, the majority of seniors with direct deposit information on file will receive their payments electronically.
To prevent delays, the Louisiana Department of Revenue advises citizens to update their information.
