2 men killed in motorcycle wreck near Dayton airport, no helmets worn

Early Thursday morning, two males were killed after being thrown from a motorcycle close to Dayton International Airport.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) reported that Austin Evans, 25, of West Milton, and Christian Price, 24, of Ansonia, were the crash casualties.

Just after 1 a.m., state troopers and emergency personnel responded to a reported crash on Logistics Lane near Dayton International Airport, as reported by News Centre 7 Daybreak.

Price was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorbike east on Logistics Lane when it struck a kerb and went off the road, according to an OSHP preliminary investigation.

The motorcycle went airborne after colliding with a dirt berm. Before the bike landed within the airport, it collided with a fence around the perimeter.

Orange cones were seen encircling the destroyed fence in the scene’s video and photographs.

Evans and Price were both flung from the motorcycle. According to the spokeswoman, both were declared deceased at the spot.

“Excessive speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. Neither occupant was wearing a helmet,” said the spokesperson.

Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
