25-year-old man charged with capital murder of a Hartselle woman

Following a fatal shooting Friday morning, Wyatt Braxton Young, 25, of Falkville, Alabama, was taken into custody and charged with the capital murder of a Hartselle lady.

He is being held without bond at the Morgan County Jail at the moment. According to the police, there is no ongoing threat to the public and this was an isolated event.

The Hartselle Police Department was called to a residence on Stage Road at around nine in the morning after receiving a report of a man carrying a pistol.

Dispatchers were informed that there was a fight going on at the house and that there was gunshots while officers were en route.

When cops arrived, they found an unarmed individual in the front yard who was very cooperative with the police.

Nancy Deanne Sandlin Fox, a 59-year-old Hartselle, Alabama resident, was discovered dead at the scene.

The Hartselle Police Department posted on Facebook that it was sending its sympathies to Ms. Fox’s family and loved ones during this trying time.
