25-Year-Old Mother of 2 Fatally Shot Inside Mississippi McDonald’s

After a shooting inside a McDonald’s in Mississippi, a mother of two has died.

On Monday, June 16, Kianna Jackson, 25, of Pearl, Mississippi, was shot and killed in Brandon, which is roughly ten miles outside of Jackson, in what appeared to be a domestic dispute.

Just before 7 p.m. local time, Jhonterryes Dampier, 27, is accused of opening fire inside the fast food restaurant on Stribling Lane in the city.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered that Jackson had died from what appeared to be a gunshot wound and that Dampier, of Mendenhall, Mississippi, had self-inflicted the wound, Brandon Police Chief Joseph French told.

Dampier was taken to a nearby hospital right after the shooting, but he passed away on Wednesday, June 18, a few days later, from his wounds.

It is thought that Jackson and Dampier had two children together.

Butch Lee, the mayor of Brandon, stated following the shooting, “This was a terrible incident. When a domestic situation like this occurs in front of children, it is even more tragic.

Adding, “Our prayers go out to everyone connected to those involved,” the politician said.

Since the shooting, Jackson’s family has launched a GoFundMe page to help pay for her children’s support and funeral costs.

The 25-year-old was referred to as “a cherished mother that’s leaving behind two beautiful children, a daughter, 5 years of age, and a son, 3 years of age” on the fundraising page.

According to the GoFundMe, which as of Sunday evening, June 22, has raised more than $15,000 toward a $22,000 goal, “She also was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend,” the description goes on.

The McDonald’s restaurant where the shooting occurred is owned and operated by O’Ferrall Management Group, which said: “We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident, and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ family and loved ones.”

“We’re providing support to our restaurant employees and will continue to assist law enforcement with their ongoing investigation,” the statement went on to say.
