3 dead, including 2 Kids, in High-speed crash after Baltimore County stop

Police say a car took off from a traffic stop on I-695 in Baltimore County on Saturday night, killing a 36-year-old man and two 9-year-old girls in a fiery crash.

State police say that at 11:05 p.m., an officer pulled over a Jeep near Greenspring Avenue on I-695, but the driver quickly drove off. Off the I-83 ramp, the policeman found the car completely on fire. He didn’t chase it and turned off his emergency lights.

Police think the Jeep lost control and hit a slope and then a tree. It then caught fire after getting off the ramp. The car’s driver and two passengers were all declared dead.

State trooper struck by suspected impaired driver

A woman from Baltimore County was arrested on March 14 after she hit a Maryland State trooper on I-695 between Charles Road and York Road. Police say she may have been drunk when she did the accident.

It was found that the policeman had just finished a traffic stop and was in a marked police car when a Honda driver crossed two lanes and hit the police car, which had its emergency lights on.

The officer was taken to a shock trauma centre, but cops say he or she has since been released.

Harriet Penniman Van Kleeck, 63, of Towson has been named as the driver who is being charged. As well as traffic-related charges, she was charged with driving while drunk.
