On Friday morning, emergency workers responded to multiple incidents on US-89 near Kaysville and Farmington, involving approximately 30 cars in total.
Lt. Cameron Roden of the Utah Highway Patrol reported many crashes on US-89’s northbound and southbound lanes.
Four crashes involving nine cars occurred on the northbound side of US-80, while about 20 vehicles were engaged on the southbound side. Roden stated that responders are still attempting to separate all of the incidents in the southbound lanes.
Roden stated that no significant injuries occurred on the northern side of the incident. Meanwhile, the Kaysville Fire Department reported on social media that six people were injured in the southbound lanes, one of whom was flown to the hospital for further treatment.

The Utah Department of Transportation said that US-89 was reduced to a single lane around mile marker 397, causing significant delays during the morning commute. As about 9:30 a.m., Roden reported that several lanes had been reopened, and traffic was running more easily.
The wrecks on Friday were most likely caused by a late winter storm that came across the Wasatch Front on Friday morning. According to Roden, the storm made Davis County’s roads particularly slick.
