A woman was found to be in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while she was crossing the street on Friday in the central Las Vegas valley, according to the police.
A collision occurred close to the intersection of East Oakey Boulevard and South Las Vegas Boulevard at approximately seven o’clock in the evening.
When the woman who was crossing the street came into the path of a 2021 Ford Explorer that was travelling westbound on Oakey Boulevard with a green light, the police say that that is when the incident occurred. According to the police, she crossed the marked crosswalk on the east side of the crossroads, crossing from north to south against the pedestrian signal, and that is when she was struck by the vehicle.
Upon arrival, emergency responders transported the woman, who was 43 years old, to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were considered to be life-threatening.
It was reported by the police that the driver of the Ford remained at the site, cooperated with the officers, and did not exhibit any symptoms of impairment.
This crash is still being looked at by authorities.
