A woman from Chico was arrested after an intense 29-mile chase with police that concluded with a vehicle overturning on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Deputies from the Butte County Sheriff’s Office observed a black Subaru Forester, which had been reported stolen earlier that day, at approximately 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of 10th Street and Nevada Avenue in Thermalito.
Law enforcement tried to pull over the vehicle, but the 46-year-old driver, Carrie Love, did not comply, resulting in a pursuit through Thermalito, Richvale, and into Durham. During the ongoing chase heading north on Aguas Frias Road, deputies set up spike strips at the junction with Durham-Dayton Highway, resulting in the vehicle experiencing several flat tires, according to officials.
In the face of adversity, Love pressed on, navigating through the fields and orchards located southwest of Willow Landing Road and Dayton Road. The pursuit came to an end as the car tried to climb an embankment and ended up on its side.
Affection dashed into a grove but was swiftly caught by authorities without any additional occurrences.
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office reported that she was taken into custody at the Butte County Jail facing multiple charges, which include felony evasion, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, misdemeanour obstruction of a peace officer, and misdemeanour possession of a controlled substance.
