On Friday, an inquiry was opened into an incident involving a single vehicle that occurred on Interstate 84 in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, and resulted in the death of a woman from New Hampshire.
At approximately 3:40 in the morning, the collision took place on westbound Interstate 84 close to Exit 5.
According to the Massachusetts State Police, responding troopers discovered a vehicle that had spun through 180 degrees before coming to a stop in the central travel lane.
It was reported by the police that the body of the driver was not found in the passenger compartment. Beth Wittenberg, 59 years old, was identified as the victim by the police. She was from Rochester, New Hampshire.
In order to provide Crime Scene Services and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Sections with the opportunity to conduct their investigations, the roadway was shut down for approximately three hours each.
The collision is still being looked at by authorities.
