6-Foot Alligator Escapes En Route to Zoo, Found at Virginia Motel

Police were shocked to see a 6-foot alligator wandering around a motel in Virginia early on Monday. The officers responded to the escaped animal in a humorous video.

In Fairfax County, some 20 miles outside of Washington, DC, the scaly creature was spotted walking aimlessly around the outside of a motel.

It appeared outside the door of their motel room, prompting frantic holidaymakers to report the sighting. Shortly after midnight, Fairfax County Police arrived and were astounded to see the 6-foot snake up close.

“Damn! That is an alligator! A police officer exclaimed, “There is actually an alligator outside the hotel.”

After discovering the alligator, the cop halted abruptly and crept to the edge of the property, as seen on his body camera.

The officer stayed a few feet away and made an attempt to gauge the gator’s size, calculating that it would be around six feet long if he “lay down next to it.”

As the police eventually led the unusually cooperative reptile away from the motel, more eager onlookers attempted to get a glimpse.

“Uh, I would bring your dog inside – there’s an alligator over here,” he stated.

“I want to see it,” the individual stated.

Police said the out-of-place alligator had escaped from its owner while at a rest stop. The scaly pet’s owner was transporting it from New York to a North Carolina zoo.

Virginia law mandated that the odd couple be led out of the county, even after the gator was reunited with its owner.
