When a car chase transformed the fairways into a freeway, a 70-year-old golfer was hit by a black SUV while hitting the links at a golf club in the Chicago region, causing significant injuries, according to bizarre footage.
A silver car driven by a golf course employee was pursuing the out-of-control and “angry” SUV driver who struck the septuagenarian on Monday at the Billy Caldwell Golf Course in Edgebrook, according to witnesses.
Golfer Ed Waters said, “The silver sedan starts pursuing the SUV, who’s just intent on doing hot laps around the course.”
“He’s, like, honking at him, trying to pit-maneuver the guy.”
According to the article, another witness claimed that the automobiles were “flying across the golf course.”
A number of wedge swingers watched in fear as the car relentlessly pursued the SUV across the undulating hills of the greens.
The SUV driver mowed down the unnamed golfer close to the course’s fifth hole during the pursuit, then continued on.

Jim Wolfer, who lives next door to the course, heard the disturbance and left his house.
Jim Wolfer, who lives next to the golf course, told the outlet, “I come out, and I see this older gentleman laying right there in the grass, and two ladies attending, golfer ladies attending to him. So, I went out there, and he wasn’t moving. But when I got there, he opened up his eyes and he could speak.”
Golfer Jim Wolfer told the station, “The GM of the course chased him down to the other hole back there, where there’s no outlet, and so kind of pinned him in there, and then the cops came. But he’s the hero. He chased the guy.”

The source was informed by another bystander that the driver displayed what might have been a 3-inch blade as he got out of his car.
According to the report, the victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital and is currently being treated in the intensive care unit.
Charges against the SUV driver are still pending.
