86-year-old woman targeted in burglary and assault attempt, suspect arrested in Los Angeles

An assault suspect has been detained in Los Angeles after reportedly targeting an 86-year-old woman.

The suspect was identified as Marcus Penn, 39, by the Los Angeles Police Department.

At 8:30 a.m. on April 30, officers responded to reports of a probable burglary suspect in the 100 block of Ocean Front Walk.

The caller who reported the event stated that they witnessed Penn enter a residential building with the elderly woman.

When police got to the building, they discovered Penn inside the victim’s home.

During the inquiry, police said they found evidence that Penn planned to assault the woman.

He was arrested for violence with intent to commit a felony during a burglary. He is being jailed for $2.05 million bail.
