A year-long investigation into a local drug trafficking organization, dubbed “Operation Uptown Funk,” has concluded, as announced by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
Authorities have made over 30 arrests, confiscated more than $175,000, seized over 30 pounds of illegal drugs, and recovered 20 firearms.
“Over the course of the investigation, detectives conducted extensive surveillance, investigated numerous overdoses, and dedicated countless hours to building a comprehensive case against this violent and far-reaching drug network. Their work resulted in the seizure of trafficking-level quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl, along with more than 20 firearms, many of which were illegally possessed,” the HCSO Facebook post said.
The operation was successfully completed by the Henderson County Drug Interdiction and Criminal Enforcement unit in collaboration with the NC State Bureau of Investigation.
A total of 10 search warrants were executed across Henderson and Buncombe counties in North Carolina, as well as in Greenville County in the Upstate. Authorities reported that detectives uncovered significant amounts of various controlled substances related to trafficking.
The sheriff’s office has identified several individuals from Henderson County who have been charged in connection with this investigation:
- Tyrone Featherstone. Charges: Trafficking opium or heroin, Trafficking cocaine, Felony possession Sch1 CS, DWLR Not Impaired Rev, Possess Marijuana up to 1/2 oz, continuing criminal enterprise, Conspire Trafficking Methamphetamine (two counts), conspire to trafficking cocaine, Conspire traffic opium/heroin (two counts)
- Andre Whiteside. Charges: Continuing criminal enterprise, conspire to trafficking cocaine, trafficking cocaine, manufacture cocaine, maintain place-controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia
- Stephanie Brown. Charges: Continuing criminal enterprise
- Nakita Allen. Charges: Conspire traffic opium/heroin, continuing criminal enterprise
- Desmond Whiteside. Charges: Continuing criminal enterprise, possession stolen firearm, possession marijuana 1/2 oz to 1 1/2 oz
- Clarence Summey. Charges: Continuing criminal enterprise and conspire to trafficking cocaine
- Tyrale Graham. Charges: PWIMSD SCH II CS, PWIMSD SCH IV CS, Felony possess SCH VI Controlled substance
- Amber Jackson. Charges: Conspire Traffic Opium/Heroin, Felony Possession Sch II CS, Maintain Veh/dwell/place
- Chrishe Landrum. Charges: Continuing Criminal Enterprise and conspire to trafficking cocaine
- Danielle Jeffrey. Charges: Conspire to trafficking cocaine
- Shawnda Logan. Charges: Conspire to trafficking cocaine
- Larry Featherstone. Charges: PWISD Marij, Maintn Veh/Dwell/Place
- Justin Webber. Charges: Felony Possession Sch II CS
