1 dead after falling from moving freight train in Nevada - Elko County Sheriff

Elko County, NV – In eastern Nevada, a person fell off a freight train early Monday morning and died.

According to the Elko County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 4:35 a.m., someone called emergency dispatch to report that their friend might have fallen from the train they were on.

The two reportedly boarded the train in Elko, which was traveling to Utah, according to the police.

According to the survivor, they went to sleep and discovered their friend was gone when they woke up.

The area where the victim might have fallen off the train rails was searched by Union Pacific Railroad staff and sheriff’s deputies. Around 6:35 a.m., a Union Pacific employee discovered their body on the railroad tracks close to Wells, Nevada.
