LaVergne, TN – The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development has received a formal WARN Notice from Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC informing it of a permanent closure of the company’s LaVergne facility, which is located between Murfreesboro and Nashville.
According to Tennessee state law, the WARN notice must be filed by May 30, 2025.
The closure, which is the second phase of a plan the firm revealed in 2024, was “due to a need to operate more efficiently and strengthen its competitiveness,” according to NBC Nashville affiliate WSMV.
The layoffs are scheduled to start on July 31 and should be finished by December 31, 2025.
The WARN notice filed states that Bridgestone’s hourly workers have a collective bargaining agreement and are represented by United Steel Workers Local 1055L.
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, sometimes known as the WARN Act, is a federal law that protects employees, families, and communities by requiring companies to give notice sixty days before plant closures, mass layoffs, or business sales.
