Following the discovery of the bodies of his three young daughters on Monday, several agencies have announced that they are working together to locate a father from Washington who is wanted for murder.
A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered by the U.S. Marshals Service for information that results in the arrest of Travis Decker, 32.
Among the organizations attempting to find Decker are the U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, Wenatchee Police Department, and Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
According to authorities, the incident began last Friday when the girls’ mother said Decker failed to return them from a scheduled visit.
Police searched for Decker and the kids over the weekend. Decker was thought to be residing in a white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup with Washington license plates.
Decker’s pickup was later discovered on Monday, roughly 20 miles from Wenatchee, close to the Rock Island Campground, according to the police.
The deaths of Paityn Decker, age 9, Evelyn Decker, age 8, and Olivia Decker, age 5, were also discovered close to the campground, according to the Wenatchee Police Department.
According to court documents, the girls most likely asphyxiated to death.
Along with personal belongings like food, blankets, car seats, and a wallet on the center console, the truck had two bloody handprints on it. There were indications of recent activity in the site, including a tent and cooler nearby.
According to court filings, Travis Decker drove to and from the same campground the day before the kidnapping, based on his cell phone usage.
Officers also discovered plastic bags and zip ties scattered all over the place.
