Suspect Charged With Murder After Virginia Woman Found Dead in Closet

An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a woman from Virginia who was discovered in her home’s closet, wrapped in a bloodied comforter.

The Newport News Police Department said that 30 year old David Anderson was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 28-year-old Imani Parrish. On Monday, he was taken into custody.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Antrim Drive at approximately 9 p.m. on the evening of April 30 because Parrish was not returning her 10-year-old son’s calls or texts, and her mother asked her partner to look into her strange lack of response.

According to reports, the partner discovered her dead when he got there.

According to court documents, detectives at the site discovered Parrish’s body “pushed” in a bedroom closet and wrapped in a blood-soaked comforter. The filings also stated that a blood trail was seen from the bathroom to the closet.

Glass fragments were found in Parrish’s corpse and clothing, and the local medical examiner’s office stated that blunt force trauma to the head was the cause of death.

In addition to being the mother of a 10-year-old kid, Parrish was also a “beloved” daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend; her obituary provides more information. “Her smile, laughter, and energy lit up every gathering.” She was a painter.

“Imani will be remembered for her natural beauty, infectious smile, kindness, strength and the love she gave so freely,” the obituary added.

Her relatives thought that the murderer was a close relative. Although the nature of her relationship with Anderson is unknown, authorities stated that he was named as a suspect “during the course of the investigation.”

Her mother, Nichole Parrish, stated in mid-May that “she really cared about that person,” though it’s unclear if she was referring to a specific individual. She truly cared, but I hope justice will be done. Please turn yourself in.
