As a result of an over-the-top senior prank, a high school in New Jersey was left in a state of disarray, and the administration was forced to cancel all classes for the day. The administrators stated that the hoax went “too far,” as stated in the story.
In addition to rearranging furniture, emptying the basketball gym of its equipment, filling halls with toilet paper, and basically turning the school upside down, pranksters at South River High School did a lot of damage to the classrooms and common areas on the Middlesex County campus.
There were no broken things. We did not steal anything. However, tables were relocated, desks were hauled out of classrooms, and equipment was moved out of the gym, according to South River Mayor Peter Guindi.
“Hey, we were all children at one point in our lives; I mean, we have all been responsible for our fair share of mischief. With that, Hizzoner continued, “This kind of went too far.”
It was stated by WABC that officials were forced to close South River High School for the day due to the vandalism, alleging a “criminal mischief incident.”
They accepted the unplanned day off after initially planning to ring the opening bells after a delay of ninety minutes.
The South River Police Department has initiated an inquiry into the senior’s prank, which might not have been the most humorous of the bunch.
On Friday, South River High School will reopen its doors to students.

The South River School District did not provide a response to The Post’s request for comment, which included the question of whether or not other disciplinary actions will be taken against the pupils involved.
In the tristate area, other students who are about to graduate from high school have engaged in extreme senior shenanigans. For example, hundreds of teens got into a fight at Jones Beach State Park on the day that was supposed to be a senior skip day.
During the same week, senior students at Malibu High School in California caused their own pandemonium by supergluing classroom doors shut and driving golf carts down stairs, resulting in damages amounting to tens of thousands of dollars. They did this in an effort to avoid being caught out by their peers.
