Innocent Bystander Killed as Protest Security Fires at Armed Suspect in Salt Lake City

A guy who was shot when he was participating in a “No Kings” demonstration in Salt Lake City on Saturday night has passed away, according to the police on Sunday.

According to the authorities, Arthur Folasa Ah Loo was a bystander who was not involved in the incident that occurred when a “event peacekeeper” opened fire on a person who had raced into the throng while carrying a rifle similar to an AR-15.

There were three rounds fired by the peacekeeper. Two of them struck Ah Loo, who lives in Utah, and the other one hit the suspect, who has been identified as Arturo Gamboa, who is 24 years old.

At the site, both men received assistance from both of the emergency personnel. On arrival, Ah Loo was sent to a nearby hospital, but he did not survive his stay there.

According to a statement released by the Salt Lake City Police Chief Brian Redd, “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the 39-year-old man who was killed, and with the many community members who were impacted by this traumatic incident.”

At the same time, Gamboa was transported to a hospital, and he was subsequently placed into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on a charge of murder.

The officials have stated that in addition to finding the pistol, they discovered a gas mask, black clothing, and a backpack that they believe to be belonging to Gamboa herself.

In addition, Redd stated that “Our detectives are now working to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident. We will not allow this individual act to create fear in our community.”

According to the police, the march, which was the culmination of a day of demonstrations around the state, was attended by more than 10,000 people.
