The Food and Drug Administration has announced that Breyers “Chocolate Truffle Tub” has been made available for voluntary recall due to mislabeling and the presence of allergens that were not declared.
“Undeclared allergens and mislabeled product,” the agency stated on its website that the product contained.
Rocky Road Ice was packaged with a tub that was labeled with the name Chocolate Truffle Ice Cream and a lid that was shaped like Rocky Road Ice Cream.
“May contain tree nuts” was written on the container, but the lid indicated that it did in fact contain almonds.

Unilever Manufacturing issued the recall earlier this month for a number of distribution centers and retail locations located all over the United States. The company is responsible for the recall.
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recall may affect 6668 cases.
Class II recalls are defined as “a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
