A young woman was killed after she was fatally struck by a Manhattan train in two grisly incidents that occurred inside the city’s subway system on Monday, according to the police.
The first incident involved a teenager who was left in critical condition after it was discovered that she had been subway surfing in the Bronx.
The young man, who was riding on top of a northbound 5 train at the Baychester subway station, reportedly fell onto the tracks shortly after 4 o’clock in the afternoon, according to the report of the police.
According to the police, the victim is between the ages of 14 and 16 years old. Paramedics rushed to Jacobi Hospital to treat the victim.
It was reported by the New York Police Department that he was in critical condition.
Later on Monday night, a woman who was 24 years old was struck and killed by a L train traveling in the northbound direction at the Union Square subway station, according to the police.
The woman voluntarily jumped down onto the tracks at approximately 10:20 p.m., according to witnesses who disclosed this information to the officers.
According to the police, witnesses saw her frantically attempting to climb out of the train as it was pulling into the station from the northbound direction.
She was struck because she was unable to arrive in time.
It was 10:27 p.m. when paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim dead, according to the police.

Her reason for jumping onto the tracks is not entirely clear. Despite the fact that the incident is still being investigated, the investigators have stated that they do not have any suspicions of criminal activity at this time.
There was a temporary suspension of the L train service between 8th Avenue and Bedford Avenue for approximately one hour, after which it was partially restored.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) stated that delays along the line continued into the early hours of Tuesday morning.
