It’s enjoyable to celebrate your own birthday, but it’s probably even more enjoyable to celebrate the birthday of your favorite fast food restaurant.
Why? Because brands love to make their birthdays a month-long or even year-long celebration, whereas ours only lasts a day—or perhaps a weekend, if you’re celebrating a milestone.
Dairy Queen is a prime example. Fans are the ones receiving the gifts as the cherished Blizzard-flipping, burger-slinging establishment celebrates its 85th birthday this year.
This summer, Dairy Queen brought back its most popular S’mores Blizzard along with four other Blizzard Treats after allowing fans to vote for their favorite discontinued Blizzard to be brought back in advance of the celebration.
A fan favorite that hasn’t appeared on menus in three years, Dairy Queen is now adding another Blizzard to the menu in honor of the arrival of summer.
Oreo Dirt Pie Blizzard is Back with Dairy Queen
Dairy Queen is ready to advise its fans to eat dirt this summer—not literally, of course. Rather, it refers to the “dirt” of Oreo crumb in its incredibly nostalgic Oreo Dirt Pie Blizzard Treat.

Oreo Dirt Pie from Dairy Queen Blizzard Treat is a thick vanilla soft serve that combines real Oreo cookie pieces, gummy worms, and fudgy crumble. It was first offered as a speciality summer dish at DQ in 2022, and it hasn’t been on the menu since.
But given that they praised it as “the best Blizzard ever” and “Childhood in a Blizzard” the first time around, I have a feeling that fans will be thrilled to see it return.
Along with the new Mixing Bowl Mashup Blizzard and Dipped Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard, as well as the returning S’mores, Cotton Candy, and Confetti Cake Blizzards, the Oreo Dirt Pie is officially the seventh seasonal Blizzard available on Dairy Queen menus this summer.
Last but not least, the “Superman” Cake Batter Cookie Dough Blizzard was revealed earlier this month in conjunction with the new film and will be available on menus for a brief period of time.

For my part, I am truly thrilled. One of my all-time favorite childhood treats is dirt pie, also called dirt cake, mud and worms, and many other equally appealing names.
It’s a dream of textures, with crunchy cookie “dirt,” chewy gummy worms, and smooth chocolate pudding (or soft serve, in this case). This summer, the Dairy Queen dessert is a must-try since it appeals to all of your nostalgic side.
Officially, on Friday, June 20, the Oreo Dirt Pie Blizzard Treat will be available again. Additionally, for the first time ever, this Blizzard can only be ordered digitally via the Dairy Queen website or the DQ app.
