A pit bull unexpectedly attacked a young boy in handcuffs in Ohio, putting him in a terrifying situation. The three perpetrators are now going to prison after the 6-year-old boy barely survived the vicious mauling.
A copy of the judgement entry filed in Ashland County Common Pleas Court states that a jury found Robert Michalski, Jr., the owner of the pit bull and the home where the attack occurred, guilty on two counts of complicity to endanger a minor and one count of tampering with evidence.
When he returns for his sentencing hearing on July 21, he could now face a maximum sentence of nine years in prison.
The three adults’ decision to handcuff the young boy’s wrists and ankles on August 19, 2024, is part of what the prosecution describes as “a disturbing pattern of abuse that culminated [that day] in Savannah.”
The boy was completely defenceless and unable to defend himself when Michalski’s dog suddenly attacked him because he was unable to use his hands or legs due to the handcuffs.
According to a news release from the Ashland County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Michalski then ran away with the dog before being arrested a few days later when an officer searched his home and discovered them hiding in a cubbyhole.
Michalski was found not guilty by the jury of two counts of complicity to endanger a minor, one count of possessing criminal tools, and one count of complicity to kidnap.
Together with his two co-defendants, Taylor Marvin-Brown and Angelina Williams, he was charged with seven counts.
Christopher R. Tunnell, the prosecuting attorney for Ashland County, claims that Williams is the victim’s mother and that Marvin-Brown is her “paramour.”
In April, Marvin-Brown pled guilty to all seven charges, and in May, Williams did the same.

Marvin-Brown will find out his fate on July 14; Williams’ sentencing is scheduled for June 30. Both of them are considering the prospect of serving a maximum of 40 years in prison.
On the two counts of complicity to endanger a child, all three were found guilty of “administering corporal punishment or other physical disciplinary measure, or physically restrain the child in a cruel manner or for a prolonged period, which punishment, discipline, or restraint was excessive under the circumstances and created a substantial risk of serious physical harm.”
The boy and his sister are currently “residing together in the care of a legal custodian where they are receiving appropriate support and protection.” The boy did recover from the attack.
