According to the authorities, a teenager sustained injuries after being struck by lightning in Central Park on Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., the New York Police Department confirmed that officers responded to reports of an individual who had been injured by lightning in the park. This information was provided shortly after the strike.
The person who was injured in the storm was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment, and the New York Police Department stated that it was not aware of any other injuries that were an effect of the storm.
A boy of sixteen years old was identified as the victim, and he was taken to Weill-Cornell Medical Centre, as stated by the parks division of the city police department.
Despite the fact that the teen’s condition was not disclosed, it was believed that the injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
At the time of the incident, a significant portion of the Northeast was under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, and storms were moving across the region from west to east.

It is anticipated that the weather will continue to be unsettling through the evening, but the precipitation will clear up and temperatures will rise the following week.
