San Bernardino County Crash on I-15 Freeway Injures 9, Prompts Major Response

An accident involving two vehicles that occurred on the Interstate 15 Freeway on Sunday morning in San Bernardino County resulted in nine individuals being sent to the hospital, according to the authorities.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department reports that the incident took place in the southbound lanes that are located north of Baker.

The department did not disclose the manner in which the vehicles crashed; nevertheless, photographs that were uploaded on X show two cars that were extensively damaged and were found in the brush off the side of the freeway.

The other vehicle, which may be a silver or gray Prius, is seen coated in mud and has front and top-end damage, as well as a shattered roof and windshield.

The first vehicle is a black sedan that has sustained substantial damage to its front end. It was not possible to see the rear end of either vehicle in the photographs.

“County Fire responded to a two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 this morning, commanding a scene that ultimately led to nine patients transported to regional hospitals, including four by medical helicopter,” according to the department.

As a result of injuries that ranged from mild to serious, all nine adults required medical care and transportation, according to the officials, despite the fact that there was no fire and there was no requirement for extrications.

“Four ground ambulances and three medical helicopters were dispatched, with traffic shut down as each was landed on the freeway,” the department’s X post stated. “A fourth helicopter was dispatched later to meet one of the ground ambulances at a local hospital to continue transport from there.”

However, neither the identities nor the statuses of the patents were disclosed.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department has reported that the freeway has been made available to travel once again.
