It is alleged that a man in Wyoming abruptly pulled out a gun on two women and threatened to play Russian roulette with them.
Threatening to use a drawn lethal weapon is one of the two charges against 38-year-old Jonathan Douglas Potter for aggravated assault and battery. For the alleged offense, he faces a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.
The incident started early on Tuesday morning when Potter and another woman went to a woman’s house in Cheyenne to deliver medication.
According to an arrest affidavit, Potter went to the bathroom after the two entered the house.
“When he came out, he made a comment that he had to get’strapped,'” the document reads, adding that the defendant got out a Bersa.380-caliber pistol and “pointed it at them.”
Then, the affidavit claims, the suspect “told them he was going to play Russian roulette with the handgun,” removing the magazine, inserting his finger through the trigger guard, and swinging the gun in various directions.
Apparently not amused by the alleged action, the two women told Laramie County deputies that they “feared for their lives.”
Authorities say the woman who came with Potter fled and hid in the bathroom, and the woman who lived in the house told them she repeatedly asked Potter to leave.
According to the arresting deputy, alcohol was involved in the incident.

According to the report, Potter claimed he did not know what was going on when police arrived and was standing outside the house.
He claimed he had gone there to “hang out” and had gone outside to smoke a cigarette only to discover himself in handcuffs.
Law enforcement claims that although the suspect eventually acknowledged taking the gun out, he denied pointing it at the women.
However, the affidavit goes on to say: “Jonathan stated that the way he went about the situation with the two females was wrong.”
The Laramie County Detention Center is where Potter is being held at the moment.
