ALABASTERThe community’s own 6U All-Star Squad represented the city of Alabaster and the Parks and Recreation Department well in the 6U Softball State All-Star Tournament.
The team’s impressive regular-season success helped them get ready for All-Star play, according to head coach Ward Banks.
According to Banks, we had a great regular season. In the regular season, we finished 16-0 and undefeated. We prevailed in the year-end competition.
There were several talented players on the team, including some who participated in last season’s All-Stars.
According to Banks, we had a number of talented players. All of the females that participated in All-Stars last year—five or six of them—returned and made it this year. Our bats were large. Paisley Banks had a great hit. Our cleanup hitter, Hattie Harris, is a very good batter. A few base hitters then just perform their duties and reach base. Our circle player is Addison Reimers, and we also have some decent gloves. In the field, she created play after play for us.
The city of Alabaster came through for these girls, providing them with top-notch gear and additional extras to celebrate their accomplishments.
According to Banks, the Alabaster community was significant to us. In the end, ten or eleven small businesses in the area sponsored us. We purchased large Under Armour water jugs, batting helmets, and bat bags for the girls. Two alternate jerseys with our names on the back were obtained. The funds from many local businesses allowed us to do a wide range of activities for the girls.
Without the parental backing, youth athletics would not be feasible. This season, Banks is certain that he had one of the best parent groups.
According to Banks, we had an amazing set of parents. For the past five or six years that I have been a coach in Alabaster, I have not once encountered a nasty parent. That says a lot about the Alabaster community.
This group was well-supported, which allowed them to play to their greatest ability this season, even though their talent undoubtedly aided them along.
