ALABASTERPeter Woods, one of the most accomplished athletes in Thompson history, is now returning to his hometown to instruct the next generation of football players.

The Peter Woods Football Skills and Leadership Camp Presented By Woo’s World will be held at Thompson High School on Saturday, July 26 from 8 a.m. to noon, Woods announced on his own social media pages.

During the four-hour program, Woods will coach students aged six to thirteen and lead them through a number of football skills.

The camp will be held at Thompson, Woods’ alma mater, where he assisted the Warriors in winning four consecutive Class 7A football state titles between 2019 and 2022. In 2022, he finished his senior season with 89 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks. He also assisted Thompson in giving up 14 points or less in 11 of its 14 games that season.

As a result, he was chosen for the Under Armour All-American Game and won Class 7A Lineman of the Year. After winning MVP in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic with eight tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks, he was selected to the Class 7A All-State First Team for the second consecutive season.

As a five-star recruit, Woods joined Clemson and made a fast transition to the field as a freshman in 2023. In 12 games and two starts, he recorded 27 tackles and 10 quarterback pressures, earning him the title of Freshman All-American from five separate publications, including the FWAA, 247Sports, and On3.

After becoming a 10-game starter with 32 tackles, 8.5 tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble in 11 games, he duplicated his feat in 2024. Woods collected eight tackles in a first-round loss against Texas, and the Tigers won the ACC Championship, which guaranteed them a spot in the College Football Playoffs.

He is now ranked by CBS Sports as a top-five choice in the 2026 NFL Draft due to his success with the purple and orange.

For the first 175 people to sign up, registration is free at Eventcreate.com/e/pwoocamp. Before camp begins at 8 a.m., check-in will start at 7:30 a.m. Participants will receive food from the camp.
