Michelle Power running for Pelham City Council

PELHAMMichelle Power, a senior educator and lifelong Pelham resident, has formally declared her intention to run for Pelham City Council, Place 1 in the next municipal election scheduled for Tuesday, August 26.

With 28 years of teaching experience, including 22 in the Pelham school system, Power has dedicated her professional life to influencing the lives of neighborhood kids and helping families all around the city. She is now prepared to lead with servant leadership and bring that same zeal to City Hall.

“I grew up in Pelham and have dedicated my life to improving this community for everyone,” Power said. I’m now prepared to bring that same commitment to the community Council in order to make sure our community keeps expanding while maintaining the principles that make it so unique.

Her campaign, which is being run under the name Power for Pelham, is focused on collaborative development, transparency, and leadership that prioritizes the community. Among her top priorities are:

  • Supporting strong schools and educational partnerships
  • Ensuring public safety and quality of life for all residents
  • Promoting smart, sustainable growth
  • Preserving the tight-knit community spirit that defines Pelham

According to Power, my campaign is about cooperating, listening, and serving. I support robust collaborations between the city, schools, and citizens as well as open and honest leadership.

Power, who is well-known for her approachability, empathy, and common sense, pledges to support Pelham’s present as well as its future. She has a unique perspective on the city’s past and a daring vision for the future because of her lifetime attachment to it.
