Several Cars Hit in Wild Expressway Chase Across Chicago, Woman Driver Arrested

CHICAGO – After a high-speed chase, police caught a driver driving carelessly down the Eisenhower and Dan Ryan expressways. The chase happened on Thursday afternoon as per reports.

Officials began following the black Hyundai Sonata on the West Side of Chicago’s Eisenhower Expressway. The car was sought for fleeing and eluding from Oak Brook in the west suburbs.

The pursuit involved Chicago Police, Oak Brook Police, Villa Park Police, and Illinois State Police.

They followed the driver past the Jane Byrne Interchange and ended up at the Randolph Street exit on the west Loop’s Kennedy Expressway. Local Police Officers were seen with guns drawn trying to arrest the driver on nearby streets, but the driver turned around and got away.

The driver ended up driving south on the Dan Ryan Expressway with the car’s hazard lights on, weaving in and out of traffic, using the emergency lanes, and hitting and missing several other cars.

Over five cars were damaged.

It looked like the driver hit a semi-trailer truck when they got to the Garfield Boulevard exit on the Dan Ryan.

Witnesses saw a woman dressed in green get out of the driver’s seat and run across the highway. Along with police, ambulances, and fire trucks, others were seen in the area. The woman was finally arrested.

Others saw police officers arresting a man. People weren’t sure if he was in the same car that cops were following.

The identities of the arrested individuals have not been released.
