The California Highway Patrol reported that a person died after being involved in two car accidents on the same day in San Francisco.
At around 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, the CHP got notification of a solitary car crash. According to CHP, a BMW vehicle was blocking the first lane of Highway 101 north of the Paul Avenue exit ramp. While CHP was its route, a Honda vehicle collided with the BMW.
According to CHP, the BMW caught fire before the second collision.
Firefighters responded and extricated the driver from the BMW. The motorist was brought to the hospital and pronounced dead about 3:39 a.m.
According to the CHP, the Honda driver cooperated. The CHP stated that alcohol or drugs were not involved in the second crash.
All roads were open as of 5:20 a.m.
