Man drowns while trying to save child in Lauderdale county river Sheriff

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office reported that a father perished while attempting to rescue a toddler from a river in Lauderdale County yesterday.

On April 18, deputies from the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office were summoned to the Porters Gap area in Halls, Tennessee, to investigate a probable drowning.

According to the sheriff’s office, a group of people entered the backwater on foot without realising how strong the river was. According to the sheriff’s office, the current overwhelmed at least one of the children.

According to the sheriff’s office, Bryan McFeely Jr., 46, was swept away by the floods while attempting to rescue the youngster from the backwater.

Lauderdale County EMS arrived on the site and began lifesaving procedures. According to the sheriff’s office, McFeely Jr. was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The other adults and children in the party were rescued from the sea and given medical assistance.
