On Monday, while riding their bikes through a Queens park, a brave father saved his 11-year-old daughter from a jerk who allegedly grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her, according to police.
Just before 5 p.m., the 37-year-old father and daughter were riding bikes through Forest Park close to the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard when she overtook him and swerved off the main path, according to law enforcement sources.
According to the NYPD, Teddy Moussignac, 44, was hiding in the bushes close to Victory Field, a more remote section of the park, when he suddenly jumped out and knocked the girl off her bike.
According to police, he threatened her, covered her mouth and nose with his hand, and began dragging her away.
Sources claim that Moussignac stated, “If you scream, I’ll kill you. I just need help with something.”
According to police, Moussignac, a Brooklyn resident, dragged the girl farther into the park and started to caress her while punching her as she fought to escape.
When the girl’s frantic father finally caught up to his daughter’s overturned bike, he realized what was going on and acted swiftly. According to sources, he ran over and yelled to stop the attack.
Moussignac ran away, but two nearby officers caught him soon after.
According to the NYPD, he was accused of kidnapping, forcible touching of intimate parts, criminal obstruction of breathing, sex abuse of a victim under 13, endangering the welfare of a child, assault, and harassment.
According to sources, Moussignac has been arrested once before, but it’s unclear for what reason because the record is sealed.
According to police, the victim’s injuries from the attack led to their transfer to Jamaica Hospital.
According to a local parent, he is cautious in the park’s more isolated spots and has frequently seen “crazy people” lurking there.
According to 42-year-old Brandon Ziegenfuss, who grew up in a nearby apartment building with his two kids, he was constantly on guard in that section of the park.

He remarked, “There was always something crazy happening. It was overrun with weirdos.
He claimed that the swankier area of the park that bordered Forest Hills was of greater concern to the NYPD than the scene of the girl’s attack.
He said, “The cops would never do anything about our side of the park because they were too busy protecting the nicer area of the park. But that’s the way the world works. What are you going to do?”
