Four suspects were involved in a violent robbery and shooting late last month, and detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and tracking them down.
In a remote location in the 100 block of South Occidental Boulevard close to Beverly Boulevard, the male victim met a woman he had connected with on a popular dating site shortly after midnight on April 28, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.
Two more suspects, a male and a female, arrived in a black, more recent model Dodge Charger or Challenger shortly after the victim had met the female suspect, who was described as a Black adult female between the ages of 17 and 25 wearing a brown shirt and gray sweatpants.
“The male suspect opened the victim’s unlocked vehicle and pointed a firearm at him and demanded his property,” according to the investigators. “The two suspects then ransacked the vehicle, took property and forced the victim to unlock his cellphone and provide the lock code.”
The male suspect, who was described as a bearded Black adult between the ages of 20 and 30, fired a round at the victim while he was still sitting in his car. He was dressed in brown overalls, a blue t-shirt, and black shoes.
Police stated, “Fearing for his safety, the victim fled the scene, leaving his car behind.”
According to investigators, the suspects returned to the area almost three hours later, just before three in the morning, took the man’s car, used it during the early hours of the morning, and made multiple illegal wire transfers and purchases from the victim’s phone before making off with $20,000 in the end.
The second female suspect in the heist is described as a Hispanic woman in her 17s to 25s who wore gray sweatpants and a brown shirt.
