Illegal immigrant forged docs to get enrolled in Ohio high school; detained by ICE after bust

A 24-year-old Venezuelan illegal immigrant was detained in Perrysburg, Ohio, after he reportedly used false documents to enroll at a public high school.

According to court documents, Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra, 24, is being held on a $50,000 bond after being accused with forgery. The Perrysburg Local Schools called the Perrysburg Police Department on Monday regarding potential fraud involving one of its kids, according to the department.

Following an initial investigation, a fraud case was created and given to the department’s detectives for more research.

Labrador was identified as a Venezuelan citizen, aged 24, by detectives collaborating with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Investigators also discovered that Labrador Sierra impersonated a 16-year-old kid and utilized fictitious paperwork to enroll in Perrysburg Schools.

In a statement obtained by Fox News Digital, Perrysburg School officials stated that Labrador Sierra was enrolled at Perrysburg High School on January 11, 2024, under the name and age of a 16-year-old unaccompanied minor, in compliance with state and federal regulations for enrolling students who are homeless or without a guardian.

The matter became even more complicated, according to the school, when Labrador Sierra secured documents and support between January 11, 2024, and May 14, 2025. He received a Temporary Protective Status (TPS), social security number, and driver’s license from U.S. Immigration, for example.

Additionally, according to the school, Labrador applied for a visa with the assistance of Advocating Opportunities, a nonprofit that offers free legal services.

The Wood County Juvenile Court awarded a Perrysburg family guardianship of Labrador Sierra.

According to school officials, the guardians got in touch with the school on May 14 to let them know that they had learned Labrador Sierra was a 24-year-old man rather than a kid.

Labrador has a $50,000 bond and is being held at the Wood County Jail. His court appearance is set for May 29.
