Two suspects hospitalized after crashing into school bus during Detroit chase

The suspects in a high-speed police pursuit have stopped after colliding with a Detroit school bus.

The event happened on Fullerton Avenue and Meyers Road at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, May 23.

According to the police, they came across the suspects leaving their home while conducting an inquiry at Mettetal Street.

Before leaving the area, officials stated the suspects got into a car and crashed into one of the police scout cars.

Other officers swiftly joined the pursuit, according to Detroit police Captain Shannon Hampton, and they arrived at the intersection of Fullerton Avenue and Meyers Road.

According to Hampton, the suspects struck the school bus carrying three students in that vicinity, causing it to collide with another car before coming to a complete stop.

According to Hampton, there was a brief foot chase after the suspects left the car.

According to her, the officers caught the defendants and seized drugs, a revolver, and a sizable sum of money.

“This was a pre-scene investigation that the officers were on. We were just looking to get some bad people off the street,” said Hampton.

Hampton responded, “I believe so at this point,” when asked if the suspects who struck the undercover car were the same ones being sought.

Thankfully, none of the teenagers on the bus were hurt, but the two suspects were taken to a hospital in Metro Detroit after suffering minor wounds.
