Hit-and-Run in NYC Leaves Pregnant Woman Dead Following Minor Crash

After a late-night altercation with the hit-and-run driver, who is still at large, a 32-year-old pregnant lady was hit and dragged to her death by an SUV, according to police on Sunday.

Just before midnight on Saturday, the fatal driver, named by police as Tiffany Cifuni, reportedly stepped out of her 2021 Toyota 4Runner to inspect the vehicle for damage following a minor incident with a 2016 Chevy Trax near Van Buren Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard.

According to an NYPD spokesperson, the Trax driver then shot it, hit Cifuni from behind, and dragged her before sped off down Lafayette Avenue, a one-way street.

The driver’s spree was not over, either, as authorities reported that the Chevy crashed into a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 38-year-old woman after colliding with a parked Volkswagen SUV while attempting to flee.

Just two weeks ago, Cifuni’s distraught in-laws learned that she was in her first trimester of pregnancy and that she and her husband James were expecting their first child.

The outlet claims that the pregnant woman was killed while returning home from Beyoncé’s performance at MetLife Stadium.

The Grand Cherokee’s driver was not gravely hurt in the collision. Police said the driver of the Chevy Trax is still at large.
