In the United States, taxpayers scrambled to submit their forms before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) deadline of April 15.
Although it’s well past the deadline, one group still has a little time to finish their submission and avoid paying late fees.
An extra two months have been added to the grace period for US citizens and resident aliens who are currently abroad, allowing them until June 16 to submit their file.
All US taxpayers are required by IRS regulations to record their entire income, including those who are actively residing and working abroad.
They are allowed a little more time to finish the file, but it is still required, just like for people who are in the US.
Filers are required to record dividends and interest in addition to their wage. The extended deadline will also apply to many active-duty military personnel who must file their taxes.
Form 4868 can still be used to request an extension if you feel that the June 16 date is a little too soon. However, there is one extremely important condition attached to that expansion.

The filing deadline is the only thing that the extension covers; any unpaid taxes are not covered.
Any unpaid taxes must still be made by June 16th, or interest will begin to be charged, even if you are successful in requesting an extension.
