Just one day after President Trump announced his intention to pardon reality stars and convicted fraudsters Todd and Julie Chrisley, the couple was released from federal jail Wednesday night.
Todd, 56, was liberated initially from FPC Pensacola in Florida after spending little over two years of his 12-year sentence. After serving a seven-year jail sentence at FMC Lexington in Kentucky, his 52-year-old wife was released.
As she waited for her father outside the Florida prison, Savannah, the daughter of the Chrisleys, told reporters, “We will forever be grateful that we have an administration that is reuniting families.”
During her tearful remarks, she added, “He is our president but he’s also a person with a heart who loves people, who loves people well.”
After being found guilty of tax evasion in 2023, the reality stars of “Chrisley Knows Best” first appeared in prison. They were convicted by federal prosecutors of falsifying paperwork to secure loans totaling more than $30 million before filing for bankruptcy.
However, on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, President Trump declared his intention to pardon the Tennessee couple, telling their adult children from the oval office that the penalties were “pretty harsh treatment.”
The president called 27-year-old Savannah and said, “This shouldn’t have happened. They were given a pretty harsh treatment based on what I’m hearing.”

“Your parents are going to be free and clean,” he stated. “I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them a good life.”
Since their conviction, the glitzy couple’s daughter has been advocating for them in conservative circles. She even went so far as to declare during the 2024 Republican National Convention that they had been “persecuted by rogue prosecutors” because of their conservative beliefs.
According to Savannah, Todd and Julie, who celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary on May 25th, haven’t spoken or seen one another since they reported to prison in 2023.
However, Savannah informed reporters that they are prepared to return to television after the family has settled back home and that they have a Lifetime program in the works “that will document all of these things.”
“It’s all God and President Trump at this point,” she stated.
