Authorities reported, publishing a picture of the culprit, that an 18-year-old basketball star who had recently enlisted in the US Air Force had died after being involved in a horrifying jet ski hit-and-run in Texas.
According to authorities, two women on a jet ski allegedly crashed into victim Ava Moore on Sunday night as she was kayaking on Grapevine Lake in Grapevine.
“Once she came out of the water, I had them lay her down and started helping at that point,” witness Lisa Scrabeck stated. “Started life-saving measures to help the young girl.”
Moore, a 2024 graduate of Fort Worth Timber Creek High School and an exceptional basketball player, was taken to the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and declared dead.
According to authorities, the woman who was operating the jet ski quickly left the scene in a car with a male, hitting another car on the way out.

Police interrogated the second woman on the jet ski who stayed behind.
In an attempt to find the suspected jet ski driver, police flashed out a picture of her.
“We are grieving the loss of our daughter at this time…. Our prayers are also with the young ladies involved, along with their families,” her family stated.
