ALABASTER As Independence Day draws near, it’s time to prepare for the city of Alabaster’s yearly fireworks display.

The event will start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2 at Thompson High School. A free fireworks display in a kid-safe setting will be available to residents of Alabaster and the neighboring areas.

There will be games, music, and food from local vendors for attendees to enjoy in addition to the fireworks. A variety of kid-friendly activities, such as bounce houses and other things, will be available, though they may change. There will be light-up toys for sale, such as wands, balls, rings, and swords.

Morgan Lawley, the manager of Alabaster town Programs, is excited to see local families gather and enjoy the Fourth of July while also having an influence on the town by patronizing small businesses.

According to Lawley, it just provides the people of Alabaster with an opportunity for an enjoyable, cost-free, family-friendly evening filled with fireworks and enjoyment.

The city of Alabaster strongly advises everyone who intends to drive to the event to become familiar with the parking regulations and the designated viewing zones for the fireworks. After certain hours, some roads will not be accessible.

If the grass isn’t wet, you can see the fireworks from the open meadow areas in front of the school and from every parking lot. Parking is not allowed on any of the school’s grassy areas. Parking is also prohibited on County and State road right-of-ways.

At all times, entry through Kent Dairy Road will be allowed. It is permitted to enter Warrior Parkway through Thompson Road until 8:00 p.m. After that, it will be 30 minutes after the fireworks show ends before people can enter or exit Warrior Parkway.

The fireworks display is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. and run for around 13 minutes.

“Enjoy a wonderful evening of delicious food, family, friends, and Fourth of July celebration,” Lawley stated.
