It has been determined that a pastor who passed away in New River, Arizona, under peculiar circumstances was the victim of a homicide.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Pastor Bill Schonemann, who was 76 years old and the head of the New River Bible Chapel, was discovered dead in his own bed on Monday, April 28. His arms were splayed wide and pinned to the wall. An act of foul play is suspected.
During the course of the ongoing investigation, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office has formally determined that Schonemann’s death was the result of a homicide.
In an interview with FOX 10, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) stated that there are “unique, specific circumstances to the case,” and that there is no ongoing threat to the community currently.
Mike Anders, who lived next door to Schonemann, was completely perplexed by the pastor’s passing.
I mean, we made sure to lock our doors the night before. All we can say is that this is something that we are not accustomed to doing. According to Anders, who spoke to FOX 10, “Everyone is just, until we know what’s going on, we don’t know if it was a family member, or we don’t know what, who could do this to him.”
