Bank of America to Open 150 New Branches by 2027, Focusing on New York and Idaho

In the upcoming years, Bank of America plans to open about 150 branches. Indeed! Yes, you read correctly—they will open actual branches.

Perhaps this sounds a little odd or unexpected to you, and it’s even more so if you consider that we live in a society where screens are used for everything and we tend to be more and more digitalised (forgetting human interaction). Up until now (for consumers of this bank, at least!)

We would like to remind you that this brand is making a tremendous effort to meet the needs of its customers. $5 million will be invested in its new branch network, and by the end of 2027, they will have 150 more offices.

They want to be where the customer wants to be, whether it be online or in person, as stated by Holly O’Neill, president of consumer and preferred banking.

And there’s nothing better than setting up areas where they can sit in peace with an advisor and discuss their financial plans, get answers to their queries, or do anything else they need to do without interruptions or devices.

The jewel in the crown: New York

They have designated Manhattan with a huge star as the location of their new branch, which will be modelled on the fabled atmosphere of Bryant Park and will feature tables, chill chairs, and distinctive décor.

The New York office will be designed by a local artist. An illustration of how the city and its finances are always changing? Naturally.

Another important point is Idaho

Naturally, they will not only grow in the Big Apple; Idaho is another important location for their growth, which is why they are going to Boise, where Bank of America hasn’t had a real location up to this point.

The first of four financial hubs in this region is scheduled to open in Nampa on June 9.

Financial Centres’ director, Will Smayda, says the company is thrilled and proud of this expansion since it will not only create jobs but also open doors and start a relationship with the local community that will undoubtedly be successful.

Investing in physical presence for over ten years

This is nothing new; since 2014, Bank of America has continued to grow its financial centre network, opening 471 new branches in its existing locations and 11 new markets, the last of which was Louisville last year.

They have already refurbished over 3,000 offices, and they want to renovate an additional 500 workplaces over the next two years.

Additionally, because of a partnership with ArtLifting, several of these outlets now include artwork created by artists with disabilities or those who are homeless. These items have already been used to decorate 1,600 offices in total.

An authentic manifestation of their dedication to the community and society. Congratulations, Bank of America.

Greater accessibility

Wait a bit further if you thought the news ended there. In an effort to better serve a segment of the population that is very sometimes overlooked, Bank of America introduced a new service this year: American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in all of its branches.

By using a QR code, individuals will be able to video chat with an interpreter and discuss their financial situation without having to deal with the language barrier.

This bank provides access to about 250 million individuals (in more than 200 markets!), or nearly 82% of the US population, while keeping an eye on the digital future.

With over 10 million visits with specialists in the past year alone, that is exactly where they wish to keep working! Bank of America reminds us that in an increasingly digital world, in-person relationships are still important. And a great deal!
