Some news sites claim that the second season of Battle Kitty is set to hit theatres in October 2022, though it was already cancelled by Netflix in 2021. Is it happening? Season 2 of Battle Kitty is cancelled or will it be renewed? Let’s find out.
“Battle Kitty” the animated kids series displays similar to a video game and carefully demonstrates the prospect of interactive programs.
While building his show ‘Battle Kitty’ which was released on April 19, 2022, on Netflix executive producer Matt Layzell figured he wanted “booties.” “There’s just something about little cute characters shaking their butts,” Matt Layzell says. “I think there’s some ancient magic there.” But bums were only the start. Matt and producer Paul Layzell, who is Matt’s brother also wished for something else: to create a TV program that is similar to a video game.
“When we joined, Netflix Animation was in its infancy,” explains Matt. “As we were developing Battle Kitty, they were building this animation studio around us; it was this DIY startup atmosphere, and everyone could fit into one lunch hall.”
“We took the branching narrative technology they’d used for other shows,” says Matt, “and broke it, almost, used it for something it shouldn’t be used for. “We tried to add layers of discovery to the maps,” he added.
In this post, we’ll uncover all the latest news, cast updates, premiere dates, and trailers for the upcoming season of Battle Kitty (if it happens) in the article below.
All About Battle Kitty
Battle Kitty is an interactive computer-animated TV series that debuted on April 19, 2022, on Netflix. Created by Matt Layzell, and developed by Matt and Paul Layzell, the series premiered on Netflix. Battle Kitty is based on a web comic of Instagram posts known as The Adventures of Kitty & Orc.
It stars Matt Layzell, Gideon Adlon, Baker Terry, Grey DeLisle, Robbie Daymond, Jaboukie Young-White, Phil LaMarr, Daniele Gaither, and Amanda McCann as the lead voice over artists.
The production companies behind the series are Netflix Animation, Choice Provisions, Higher Ground Productions and Laughing Wild.
When can we expect the renewal of the second season of Battle Kitty?
The second season for Battle Kitty hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, the Netflix show based on a book series will likely make a comeback within a few months.
As of November 2022, Netflix is yet to cancel or renew Battle Kitty for its season 2. When it comes to the ratings, the debut scored 83% out of 100 based on 12 user votes. On IMDb, it has a score of 6.4 out of 10 based on 184 user votes. The ratings did fairly well but is this enough for the giant’s streamer to produce a second season? Hard to tell but fans sure are hoping to see a new season that much we know. Also, the reason why the ratings are kinda low is that the audience is mainly kids or children. But visual-wise and story narration are quite intriguing and I’m sure adults would find it interesting too.
So whether a sophomore season of Battle Kitty will happen or not is entirely up to Netflix. Besides, the debut season only came out in its entirety in April 2022 so let’s give it some time for the showmakers to make official updates.
