Bentley University Student Dies After Accidental Balcony Fall on Senior Class Trip

According to officials at the institution, the senior student fell from a balcony when they were on their annual senior class trip.

An unexpected death occurred on Sunday night at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, as a result of a “tragic accident” that occurred during a class vacation to the Bahamas, according to officials from the university.

During a senior class trip to the Bahamas, Gaurav Jaisingh, an undergraduate student from Shrewsbury, fell from a balcony by accident, according to a statement released by the university.

It was alleged that Jaisingh fell from an upper-level balcony when he was staying in his hotel room on Paradise Island with his roommates at approximately ten o’clock at night, according to a press statement issued by the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

At a later time, he was discovered unresponsive on a lower floor.

According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, however Jaisingh was taken to the hospital by emergency personnel, he did not survive his injuries and passed away while he was being transported there. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are now being conducted by the police.

In accordance with his LinkedIn page, Jaisingh attended Bentley University and majored in finance while also pursuing a minor in computer information systems. Additionally, he served as a brother in the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity, as well as a leader in the orientation process and an ambassador for undergraduate admissions.

According to the statement released by the university, the institution will offer resources and counselling to anyone who has been affected by Jaisingh’s passing and is in need of support on this matter.

The institution has stated that additional information will be disseminated when it becomes available “while respecting the privacy of his family.”

According to a statement sent by the university, “We share our deepest condolences with Gaurav’s family, friends and loved ones. This is an enormous tragedy for our community.”

This next weekend is the official commencement ceremony for Bentley’s undergraduate students.
