A press statement from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says that a car accident on I-475 North on Monday night blocked several lanes of traffic and brought down a power pole.
According to the news release, the sheriff’s office got a 911 call at 11 p.m. on Monday and went to the I-475 North exit on Zebulon Road to find downed power lines and broken things.
The police say a car drove off the Tucker Road Bridge and hit a power pole on I-475 North. They have not been able to find the owner of the car yet.
Report says that the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to stay away from I-475 North and other nearby roads while the situation is being looked into and power lines are still down.
According to the news, all lanes going north and south are closed right now.
The Georgia Power website has a Power Outage Map that shows that over 4,500 people lost power at some point on Monday night because of the downed power lines. According to their website, Georgia Power thinks that all power will be back on by about 12:30 a.m.
