Bloomfield Man drove motorcycle at 190+ mph, Posted reckless stunts on Social Media Arrested

A Bloomfield man was detained on Tuesday after allegedly dangerously driving a motorbike around the state, reaching speeds of nearly 200 mph at times, and posting recordings of the incident on YouTube.

According to Connecticut State Police, Brice Bennett, 22, has been charged with careless driving, failure to maintain the proper lane, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

According to state police, the Central District Major Crimes Squad was tasked in December 2024 to examine several complaints of dangerous motorbike operations on Connecticut highways. The crime squad began investigating after an anonymous complaint was made to Gov. Ned Lamont’s office, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

An document for the warrant says that investigators also got a search warrant for an Instagram account that was linked to Bennett. State police wrote that a man they think is Bennett shared a video of his face on the account in a “reel” video.

The warrant affidavit said that even though disclaimers on social media posts said that all the content was “filmed in Mexico,” state police were able to find several videos that were reportedly taken on Connecticut highways.

According to the warrant affidavit, Bennett was seen riding his motorcycle on Interstate 91 in Hartford in one video. He was then seen reportedly going more than 100 mph on Interstate 84. The authorities were able to find the spot because of the exit signs.

The warrant document said Bennett was seen on Foxon Avenue in New Haven before merging onto I-91 North in a different video that said it was taken during “rush hour traffic.” State cops wrote that he was then seen going 120 mph on I-91 in Wallingford.

It was shared on Instagram with the title “left lane campers will forever infuriate me.” The warrant affidavit said that a motorcycle rider could be seen going about 100 mph on I-84 West in Hartford. Based on the warrant document, police were able to find a “Welcome to Hartford” sign in the video.

Police in the state said Bennett is seen going faster than 190 mph in some of his videos. According to the warrant affidavit, agents mostly looked into the videos that were said to have been filmed in the state.

Bennett is free on a $5,000 bond and will go to court on April 29 in Hartford Superior Court.
